Here’s a sonnet I wrote for my Intro to Poetry class about how much of a nerd I am!

It’s funny that I can’t remember now

what sorts of books I read before we met.

I can’t imagine my world without yours.

I love your ink, it makes me feel I know

Exactly what you’d say if you were here.

I snuggle in your sweatshirt — it’s my shield,

On weekends while I watch you in HD

But most of all I love your love for her.

That girl is your fondue, dance something slow.

You bicker, banter always but I’m sure

That if there’s fear or pain you’ll make it through.

Your love cannot be cancelled and can’t flop.

Because out here it can, so yours must not.

My ever after —who knows? I have yours.
